Dhammasara Buddhist Nun's Monastery provides a unique and rare opportunity for women in the Buddhist Theravada tradition to train, ordain and practice in a secluded forest setting ……… to live the simple life of a samana (renuncient)…… to walk the path laid by the Buddha………
Currently we have eight kutis (individual meditation huts) and a small cottage for communal activities. With the growing demand of women seeking the monastic path, we are planning to expand the facilities at Dhammasara allowing more women to join our community and take up the monastic path. We plan to build:
- A meditation hall complex which includes a meditation hall that can fit up to 250 people
- A dana (dining hall) sala to accommodate up to 25 nuns
- A kitchen and dining area for lay guests and an ablution block with disabled facilities
- Two residential pods, which have 6 bedrooms each with disabled bathrooms.

The sala development will also provide more short-term accommodation for lay-women to stay at the monastery and have the rare opportunity to experience the monastic life. All facilities will be made to cater for the old and the sick or disabled.

This multimillion dollar project is anticipated to be completed as funds become available and we seek your support in making this possible. Your kind generosity towards this project is greatly appreciated by all of us and it will support many future generations of Buddhist nuns.
We are located at 203 Reen Road , Gidgegannup 6083 Western Australia
